Does the enhancement of human flourishing contribute to the common good? Yes, according to Gaudium et Spes promulgated by the Second Vatican Council. The common good is 'the sum of those conditions of social life which allow social groups and their individual members relatively thorough and ready access to their own fulfillment.' Without human flourishing at the individual level, there could be no common good at the social level. So, I ask again: does the enhancement of human flourishing contribute to the common good?
