SANFORD — Lisa Bromfield and Wendy Baker got lunch this week at Colonial Room Restaurant in downtown Sanford, but the two friends are going out less lately.'We used to get together once a week, and now it's once a month,' said Bromfield, 59, of Oviedo. 'I cook a lot more at home. I stick to my grocery list. I don't buy extra things like I used to and I'm doing meal plans.'As prices for groceries, gasoline and restaurant food soar, some diners have cut back on how often they eat out. Consumer sentiment across the state has fallen with the higher prices and fears of a possible recession.
