The Village Academy in Oviedo, Florida

If you are reading reviews of The Village Academy to decide whether to enroll your child with special needs, I would encourage you to disregard the review of Angelique Cowart. This person is embroiled in an acrimonious divorce and custody battle and has unfortunately chosen to involve the school with this public review. This is just her latest effort to harm anyone she views, in her paranoia, as against her. Her past actions against various targets have included false police reports, false reports to DCF, and calls to the media. I am the father of the student she mentions in her report. I assure you Mrs. Cowart has ulterior motives in writing this review. In her five plus years at this school, my daughter has made better progress than I could have ever dreamed. The school’s focus on academics has enabled her to read and comprehend, add and subtract three digit numbers, and communicate at a level we were warned may never be possible when she was diagnosed with her condition. I thank all the staff of The Village Academy, both past and present, for all their hard work to achieve this. Aside from results, I know the staff of The Village Academy actually love and care about my daughter, as they do all their very special students. They are a family. This is worth more than gold and I feel fortunate I am able to have my daughter in an environment such as this every school day. Mrs. Cowart’s review is a sad disservice to a school that has done so much for her daughter throughout the years. My only hope is that my review will make it obvious to you that her motive is petty revenge. The school staff has been honest and truthful regarding attendance records, parental involvement, and past harmful interactions which have brought to light the many reckless and damaging things Mrs. Cowart has done to negatively impact the education of our daughter. That is the real reason for her review.
