At first, this place is very underwhelming. The parking is small, and right away it's very.... Small shrubs and rocky/sandy path to a boardwalk. You get a little bit in, and it's better. Lots of trees, birds to hear, plants. But then.... It opens up, and it is just breathtaking! The vehicle/horse trails are wonderful to walk. So is the regular walking path. It all loops around. You do have to go back the way you came in to get back to the parking, but holy guacamole is this place stunning! I didn't wanna leave. I came across a snake, some butterflies, a few large bees, and spiders..... I ran into a spider chest high, and was just.... "Nope. Done. Bye." Oh, and a cute little turtle. Don't worry. I didn't touch any of them. Too cute to! I did show the turtle its picture, though. LOL Oh, and the feather is next to my shoe for size comparison. Also didn't touch. Shoe is a size 9 in mens!

Reviews are right about poorly marked trails. Don't believe the blue arrows. We all were making an effort to stay aware of trails. Well, very easy to get turned around. W e eneded up having to use maps to get us to a street on the west side of the preserve. Otherwise the trails are great. Gopher tortise and other birds abundant. Just be aware you will likely get turned around/lost!!
